Faulkner University’s College of Health Sciences is proud to announce that its Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (PA) program has been awarded Accreditation-Continued status by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). This designation reaffirms the program’s commitment to academic excellence, clinical training, and preparing highly skilled healthcare professionals to meet the growing demand for medical services.
The PA program is part of Faulkner’s broader healthcare initiative, which also includes accredited programs in Occupational Therapy (OTD), Speech-Language Pathology (SLP), and Physical Therapy (DPT). These programs provide students with cutting-edge education, hands-on clinical experiences, and opportunities to serve communities in need.
A hallmark of Faulkner’s College of Health Sciences is its on-site pro bono clinic, where students across multiple disciplines collaborate to provide free healthcare services to underserved populations. This initiative allows students to gain invaluable real-world experience while fulfilling Faulkner’s mission of faith-based service and compassionate care.
In addition to its existing graduate programs, Faulkner University is expanding its healthcare offerings with the launch of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program in Fall 2025. This new program will help address the critical shortage of nurses in Alabama and beyond by equipping students with the knowledge and clinical training necessary to excel in the evolving healthcare landscape.
“We are honored to receive Accreditation-Continued status from ARC-PA, which reflects the dedication of our faculty, staff, and students in providing exceptional healthcare education,” said Dr. Cassie Boyd, Dean of the College of Health Sciences. “Our PA program, along with our other accredited programs and the upcoming BSN, represents our ongoing commitment to preparing skilled professionals who will make a meaningful impact in healthcare.”
Faulkner University’s College of Health Sciences remains a leader in healthcare education, combining academic rigor with hands-on experience and a strong emphasis on community service. With a foundation rooted in Christian values, the college is shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals who are prepared to serve with excellence and compassion.
