The Master of Science in Psychology program is offered fully online to accommodate busy students and working professionals. Offered through Faulkner University’s Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences, the MS in Psychology is ideal for those who want to prepare for careers in human services and related fields. Like all programs at Faulkner University, the online psychology degree curriculum is taught through a faith-based lens.

Program Goals and Objectives

The Master of Science in Psychology program is a fully online program with two different degree options: a General Track and a Disability Services Track. The General Track is designed for students who want to continue developing their understanding of psychology or pursue career opportunities that draw on knowledge of human behavior and psychological concepts. Courses are taught by faculty with diverse experience in the field who apply Christian perspectives to the discipline.

Master of Science in Psychology Curriculum

The Master of Science in Psychology program can be completed in as little as one year. Students have the option to take two courses at a time to finish the degree in one year, or take one course at a time and complete the degree in two years. This 36-credit program consists of foundational courses, psychology core courses, and psychology electives:

Admission Requirements

To enroll in the online Master of Science in Psychology program at Faulkner University, you must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. You may also be considered if you held a 3.0 GPA for the last 60 hours and in your major.

To apply, students must submit the following:

  • A completed graduate application
  • Official transcripts from all institutions attended in the past (Complete an Official Transcript Request form and send the form to any schools you have previously attended. Note that transcript requests may incur a fee)
  • A personal essay in APA format
  • Three letters of recommendation

Applicants must also demonstrate successful completion of prerequisite courses or submit an approved plan for completion within the first semester.

The online Master of Science in Psychology program uses an all-inclusive fee structure for tuition, fees, and electronic resources. Applicants are encouraged to review student accounts, tuition, and fees for additional details.

The tuition for the Master in Psychology programs is “all-inclusive”, including all tuition, fees,
and textbooks/resources (electronic).
Students may purchase physical copies of textbooks at their option through the Faulkner
E-Campus bookstore.

Technology Requirements

As courses are completed online, applicants will need a desktop or laptop computer with access to Wi-Fi. Faulkner University’s technology requirements for online learning are:

  • A PC or Mac that is less than five years old with a minimum of 4GB of RAM and high-speed internet
  • An up-to-date supported Internet browser
  • A webcam for participating in virtual classes

Microsoft Word is recommended for completing assignments through Canvas, the online learning platform used at Faulkner University.
