Microcredentials in Risk Management & Insurance

Program Structure

  • Courses are set in 8-week modules with three modules available each semester (Spring, Summer and Fall)
  • Students may enter the program at the beginning of any module (application deadlines will apply)

Microcredentials Courses offering Course Credit for Professional Designations

CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter)  
Insurance Law RMI 3330
    Must earn a B or better to receive CPCU 520 waiver (Pass)  
Insurance Operations RMI 4300

    Must earn a B or better to receive CPCU 520 waiver (Pass)

RMI 4300

    Students earning the waivers for CPCU 520 and CPCU 530 will receive the CPCU Collegiate Studies designation.

 
   
CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor)  
Life & Health Insurance RMI 3340
    The Life & Health exam will be given in the course. It provides the opportunity to pass another part of the CIC.  
Property & Casualty Insurance RMI 4310
    Must earn a 'C' or better in the course to receive a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) waiver (Pass) for Commercial Casualty. It provides the opportunity to pass another part of the CIC.  

    Students with credit for any two of the three areas (Life & Health, Commercial Casualty, Commercial Property) will receive the University Associate Certified Insurance Counselor (UACIC). All with two passed exams and the waiver can use all three towards the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC).

 
   
CRM (Certified Risk Manager)  
Corporate Risk Management RMI 4320

    Must earn a C or better in the course to receive a Certified Risk Manager (CRM) waiver (Pass) for Analysis of Risk. The Principles of Risk exam will be given in the course. It provides the opportunity to pass another part of the CRM.

 
    Students who receive the waiver and pass the exam will receive the University Associate Certified Risk Manager (UACRM).

  • Tuition $325 per semester hour
  • General Fee $350 per semester ($250 if 11 hours or less)
