Dr. Gerald B. Jones Jr. serves as the university’s general counsel. He previously served as a tenured professor, associate dean of the Harris College of Business and chair of the Department of Business. Jones was honored as “Distinguished Teacher” for the University in 1997-1998 and as “Professor of the Year” for 2002-2003 by the Student Bar Association of the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law.
Jones earned the Juris Doctor degree from the University of Alabama School of Law, a Master of Science in Human Resources Management degree from Troy State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Bible from Alabama Christian College (now Faulkner University), where he was a member of the first four-year graduating class.
Jones enjoys regularly teaching in the adult education program of the University Church of Christ. His greatest joy in life comes from spending time with his wife and their children in a variety of ways – including vacationing, games, swimming, fishing and deer hunting.
