Administration
Dr. G. Scott Gleaves is the dean and associate professor of biblical languages, NT studies, and Christian ministry of the V. P. Black College of Biblical Studies and the Kearley Graduate School of Theology.
Education
Gleaves holds a bachelor degree in biblical studies from Lipscomb University, a master of science degree in biblical studies and a master of divinity degree from Abilene Christian University, a doctor of ministry degree from Southern Christian University, and a doctor of philosophy degree from Turner School of Theology at Amridge University. Gleaves has also served as a minister of the gospel for congregations in Texas, Tennessee and Florida.
Teaching Schedule
Gleaves teaches advanced studies in biblical languages (doctoral), seminar in the historical literature of the OT (doctoral), seminar in the book of Acts (doctoral), advanced studies in biblical hermeneutics (doctoral), church leadership (graduate), Greek (graduate), Hebrew (graduate), and Aramaic (graduate).
Publications
In addition to his administrative and teaching duties, Gleaves is the editor of the departmental newsletter, SOAR, and the co-editor of the graduate school’s journal, ΠΝΕΥΜΑΤΙΚΑ. Gleaves has published five books: For Theirs Is the Kingdom (College Press), Snatched from the Fire (Resource Publications), Capture the Courage (Gospel Advocate), Seeking a Life that Counts (Gospel Advocate), and Did Jesus Speak Greek? The Emerging Evidence of Greek in First Century Palestine(Pickwick Imprint of Wipf and Stock).
Hobbies
In addition to writing, Gleaves enjoys playing the banjo, mandolin, guitar, and piano.
