Carol Tarpley was born in Dickson, Tennessee and graduated from David Lipscomb College in 1971, with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She earned a master’s degree and education specialist degree from Austin Peay University in Clarksville, Tennessee, and a doctorate in elementary education from Auburn University.
Tarpley serves as Chair of the College of Education, EdTPA Coordinator, and teaches professional studies and teaching field courses in undergraduate and graduate programs.
Tarpley is married with two children and seven grandchildren. She lives in Dadeville, Alabama, where she attends the Dadeville Church of Christ. She enjoys traveling, gardening and renovating her home, which was built in the 1880s.
