Program Objectives

Our Master of Education in Secondary Education with a Social Science Alternative A program is designed for individuals who want to transition into teaching at the secondary level (grades 6-12). Upon completion, students will become initially certified in Social Studies with Secondary Education and earn a master’s degree.

This 45-hour program provides the academic foundation and practical skills needed to teach social science subjects to secondary students. It also includes field experiences in diverse settings, where students will hone essential skills for classroom teachers. These experiences may include instructing, tutoring, or conducting workshops for students.
