How to Register for CLEP
CLEP examinations are administered by the Instructional Support Lab in Brooks Hall. Examinees must submit their registration forms at least a week prior to the testing date. Registration will be accepted in the order it is received, and depending on availability, examinees may be forced to reschedule for a later testing date. Students are advised to mail in their registration form with the proper fees as soon as possible.
CLEP Fees
Examinees are charged two separate fees: a $15 registration fee and a $70 examination fee. The $15 registration fee can be paid by cash or a check or money order made payable to Faulkner University. The $70 CLEP examination fee can be paid by check or money order made payable to CLEP or by Credit Card (Visa, American Express, or MasterCard). All CLEP fees must be turned in with the registration form or the registration will not be accepted. (Examinees planning on paying with a credit card should remember to bring the credit card on the testing day.) Dantes-funded military personnel do not have to pay the $70 examination fee but are still required to pay the $15 registration fee. IMPORTANT NOTICE: The CLEP exam fee will increase to $72 beginning July 1, 2009.
Identification Requirements
Examinees must present two forms of acceptable identification on the test date. The primary ID must be a photo ID with signature (i.e. driver’s license, passport, state or federal ID card, tribal ID card, naturalization card or certificate of citizenship.) The secondary ID must have a photo and/or signature (i.e. current employee ID, current student ID, social security card, military ID or an unused primary ID.) Military candidates must present a current military ID along with a second form of government-issued photo ID such as a driver's license or passport.
Retesting Policy
CLEP requires a waiting period of six months before an examinee may repeat the same exam. For more information, go to www.collegeboard.com
