John C. Craft

B.A., Auburn University; J.D., Faulkner University, Jones School of Law

John C. Craft joined the law school faculty in 2010. He teaches and supervises the Elder Law Clinic and the Externship program, and teaches Interviewing, Counseling and Negotiation. Prior to joining the faculty, Professor Craft was a solo-practicing attorney in Montgomery. He represented senior citizens and their families on Elder Law matters including Estate Planning, Probate, Medicaid, Veterans benefits, and Nursing Home litigation.

Professor Craft received his undergraduate degree in religion from Auburn University and his law degree from Faulkner University, Jones School of Law, graduating cum laude. Professor Craft served on the editorial board of the Jones Law Review. He also represented the law school on the American Bar Association's National Appellate Advocacy Competition team, finishing the competition as a national quarterfinalist and with the second best national brief.

Professor Craft is admitted to the Alabama State Bar and is a member of the Montgomery County Bar Association. He is active in the state bar association's Elder Law Section where he currently serves as treasurer. Professor Craft is also actively involved in the community through his church where he coaches youth sports, and through the Montgomery Sunrise Rotary Club where he serves on the Board of Directors and is the club president-elect.
