Author Dissects the Anatomy of a Novel for Faulkner Students

Sara DuBose, a local writer and novelist presented the "Anatomy of a Novel," to Faulkner students, staff and faculty members on October 14, 2008. DuBose's presentation included important tips in structuring a novel. After delivering her successful tips she opened the floor for questions.
The 2007 winner for the Southeastern Writers Association, DuBose is the author of the critically acclaimed "Heart" trilogy. In addition, she has is a frequent contributor to various magazines including Christian Woman Today, Power for Living and The Christian Reader. Her newest novel, A Promise for Tomorrow, was recently released to favorable reviews.
After the presentation Mrs. DuBose was formally welcomed at a beautiful reception at the Gus Nichols Library. Her novels were on display and she spent time signing books. She also spent time answering questions from students, some from Mrs. Beverly Pace's Fiction Writing class.
The workshop was a joint endeavor by the English Department and the Library. "The English Department would like to have more literary workshops in the future and judging from the positive comments and attendance we will be planning another soon," said Pace.
