Dr. Carolyn Mathis White, a 2003 graduate of Jones School of Law, was presented the 2007 Unsung Hero Award by the Migrants Clinicians Network, a national migrant health care organization. White, who was nominated for the award by her daughter, has been bringing health care to migrant families for 10 years, starting from the trunk of her car. She is now on the board of La Clinica de Baldwin and works for other boards, always supporting the health interests of Alabama’s poorest population. White is a professor at the College of Nursing on the University of South Alabama’s Baldwin County campus.
