Dr. BrendaTurner becomes usability analyst
Dr. Brenda Turner, professor of informatics, successfully passed the certification exam for usability analyst. Before the exam, Turner was required to travel to Seattle, Wash., to complete courses in user-centered analysis and conceptual design, the science and art of effective web and application design, practical usability testing, and putting research into practice. The 100-question, web-based exam, taken on
Sept. 13, required a minimum 70 percent pass rate. Turner is now the only HFI-Certified Usability Analyst in Alabama.
Turner believes this training and certification will enable her to share current research findings in her Informatics courses and heightens the department�s academic credentials for the upcoming accreditation review process.
