Beds donated for Somilia relief effort

Following the renovations of the Baldwin and Burton dormitories, Faulkner University donated the used mattresses, springs and other bedding supplies to needy people of Somalia. The items donated are to be used in hospitals for children and the elderly who sleep on woven pads for beds.

Saturday, June 23, volunteers from Faulkner and the Dalraida and University Churches of Christ loaded the donated items onto a truck headed for South Carolina to be shipped overseas. John Kachelman, and his wife, alumna Monica (Willis) Kachelman, worked with Leon Willis, director for Campus Security, to arrange the donation of goods, declared by the U.S. Government to be worth $13,000.
