Record-breaking year for 2007 Annual Benefit Dinner
The Annual Benefit Dinner broke fund-raising records this year. Until this year, the record amount was $409,000; the generous support of our donors this year came to over $510,000!
Dinner events included the presentation of the Distinguished Service Award. This year’s recipient was Mike Taylor of MTS Construction.
A crowd of over 700 supporters was treated to the antics of cowboy poet and humorist Baxter Black. Drawing from his experiences as a large-animal veterinarian, his poetry and stories are known nationally. Black captivated the audience through his dramatic renderings of original poems and true stories of events stranger than fiction. In addition to speaking at the dinner, he addressed the student body at chapel and later spent time with them in the Multiplex Grill.
