Undergraduate Teacher Education Program (TEP) Admission Requirements
- Submission of a formal application to the TEP;
- Demonstration of current membership in Student of Alabama Education Association;
- Successful achievement of a 2.5 minimum GPA in the teaching field courses, professional content courses, and overall;
- Completion of the following coursework with a grade of “C” or above: English Composition 1 and 2, Introduction to Education, Foundations of Education, Technology in Education, Practicum in Education;
- Completion and approval of a minimum of 100 total practicum hours in diverse settings;
- Successful completion of a Alabama Quality Teacher Standards Math examination;
- Successful completion of the Alabama Prospective Teacher Test (official results must be received from the testing company);
- Successful completion of the Educational Testing Service Proficiency Profile (ETSPP);
- Receipt of Disposition Rating Checklists from each professor taken during semester of and semester prior to application;
- Completion of a Transcript Release/Handbook Receipt form;
- Successful completion of a background examination by the Alabama State Department of Education;
- Successful completion of an interview with a College of Education representative;
- Approval of Professional Portfolio within Livetext;
- Successful completion of an interview with the Teacher Education Committee.
