Norma McGee has served as Director of Development and Alumni Relations at Thomas Goode Jones School of Law, since July 1999. She is responsible for fundraising for the law school; for publishing newsletters and other promotional materials; and for planning law alumni reunions, CLEs, and other law school events.
Prior to coming to Jones, she served, for three years, as Director of Development and Alumni Relations at West Virginia University College of Law.
She spent the first ten years of her development career at Rice University, in Houston, Texas, where she managed the Annual Fund and later the Leadership Annual Gifts efforts for the University. During her years overseeing the Annual Fund at Rice, the program resulted in gifts exceeding $4 million annually, and alumni participation in contributing to Rice reached its all-time high of 46% participation.
Her experience also includes serving as the Director of Volunteer Services and Public Information for Outreach, at the Texas Department of MHMR Rio Grande State Center in its Kingsville Outreach Office, and as an Instructor at the Kingsville (TX) Center of Bee County College (now Coastal Bend College).
McGee has a B.A. degree in Communication Arts (cum laude) from the University of West Florida (UWF) and additional graduate-level work from UWF and from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. She is a graduate of Leadership Kingsville (TX); and, in 1994, she received her credentials as a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE).
She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP); Partnership for Philanthropic Planning (formerly National Committee on Planned Giving); Alabama Planned Giving Council; Association of Donor Relations Professionals (ADRP), and Association of Advancement Services Professionals (AASP).
