Allen Howell joined Faulkner's Thomas Goode Jones School of Law as the Director of Career Services and Public Interest in January 2011. Prior to joining Faulkner Law, Allen was an Associate Attorney at Pinkston & Courtney, LLP in Wetumpka, Alabama. Allen's work at Pinkston & Courtney focused on family law, estate planning, appellate practice and county governance. Prior to law school, Allen spent time as a sales and marketing manager in telecommunications, working primarily with AT&T Wireless.
Allen is an active member of the legal community serving on the Alabama State Bar's Pro Bono Week Task Force as the Law School Subcommittee Chair and the State Bar's Pro Bono and Public Interest Committee as the Subcommittee Chair for Membership. Allen was also recently appointed to the American Bar Association's Young Lawyer Membership Team.
Additionally, Allen is active in the community, serving as Vice President of Montgomery's Mental Health America's Board and on the Junior Executive Board for Montgomery's American Cancer Society. He is also an Ambassador for the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce, on the leadership team for the UAB Montgomery Alumni Chapter and on the board for his Homeowner's Association.
Allen is a member of the National Association for Legal Career Professionals (NALP) and has presented at the NALP Annual Conference in Austin, TX on the topic of employer outreach. He also guest lecturers for the law school's Law Office Management class on the topic of Law and Technology. He will be an adjunct professor for Faulkner University's Legal Studies Department this fall teaching Administrative Law.
Allen is an alumni of Thomas Goode Jones School of Law and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. While in law school, Allen won the Greg Allen Mock Trial Tournament and was a research assistant in the field of bioethics and health law for Professor Jeff Hammond. Allen lives in Montgomery with his wife, Angela and has one daughter. Allen enjoys playing in Montgomery's adult soccer league, running and travel.
